FAQs

What does investing mean?

At Dragonfly Ventures, we believe investments are not solely defined as something that provides a financial return but as something that provides a social and environmental impact. We are investing in dynamic leaders, we are investing in communities, we are investing in human health and the health of our planet. As a result, we use the word “investing” to include any financial contributions including grants, sponsorships, and investments in businesses.

Is there anything you don’t invest in?

We do not invest in hedge funds. We also carefully choose our Venture Capital firms to align with a less aggressive approach to growth and exits.

We do not invest in any private businesses headquartered outside of North America.

How can I invest with Dragonfly Ventures?

We are not currently offering investment services. We will periodically revisit the potential to do so. If you are interested in collaborating with our vision, please reach out by via our contact page.

Do we need to be a registered charity to receive a grant?

Because we do the majority of our granting through a donor advised fund at a public foundation, organizations must be registered charities to receive a grant. We consider sponsorships to non-charitable organizations where there is strong alignment with our mission, vision, values and focus areas.

Do you donate to charities outside of Canada?

No, we do not donate funds outside of Canada.
